Once again I am teaming up with Matteo Dalle Fratte to help to shed light on this wonderful corner of the Italian opera repertory, the belcanto...

Matteo has a clear and effective method of installing in singers very good sung Italian! My role is to show how to combine this approach to diction with making both the singer’s best sound but also a sound which is consonant with the requirements of belcanto repertory.

Mastering Belcanto will increase your confidence in singing in Italian by giving you experience with the nuts and bolts of the language, diction and breathing support required to make you a true master of belcanto.


Cost: £85 per day, or £145 for both days (coffee and biscuits included, lunch provided for a £5 contribution per day)

Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Repertoire: Italian opera arias or songs from the Baroque, Classical or Romantic (belcanto) period.
